The stitich I use is backstitch and I take just 2 beads at a time to make it as tight as possible. For the edge I use brickstitch and for securing the cabachon I use peyote. Thank you! The original bracelet in the video is not for sale, but to make another, the cost would be around 500.00
Many hours of intricate beadwork and so many beads used, I didn't count them : )
The bracelets begin with focal beads and then bead embroidery is done around them.....one thing leads to another and before you know it, you have a completed work of art : )

The focal bead "spirit bird" was purchased years ago in a quaint little shop in the North Carolina Mountains.
The hand carved bead was the inspiration for the bracelet.

I use size 11/0 and 15/0 to "bead bezel" a cabochon on silk. Basically the same as tubular peyote, but this is used for decorative effect as well as function to hold the cab in place. You can bezel any kind of cab, any size this way.

Tambour beading has a bit steeper of a learning curve, but once oyu get the nuances of the technique you can really develop speed.

The beads come in hanks of about 12 strands. You carefully remove one strand of beads from the hank and tie the thread the beads are on to the spool of thread you will be using. Carefully slide the beads off their original thread onto the new spool of thread. It takes about 2 minutes.

Sometimes if they clay wants to stick to the mold though, it helps to dust the inside of the mold with a small amout of baby powder ( use a brush to make sure it coats all the crevices) & it'll make your piece come out much easier. We're almost finished with our Poodle afghan! Sew your beads on for the collar and eye. ** The beads are sewn on top of the duplicate stitch for the collar. In this case, I used black yarn. Are there machines that can automate bead embroidery, like machines that automate regular embroidery, or is it all done by hand? Also, does anyone know if those inexpensive home machines that automatically do embroidery can replicate the look of crewels? The reason I ask is that I'd like to add some embroidery of my drawings to my paintings, which are on canvas. I'd like for it to replicate the look of crewel but even more I'd love to add bead work. But I know absolutely nothing about sewing.

Okay. The band should be at least 1.25" wide. I wouldn't bead directly onto the band, but would work on some interfacing and then glue the work onto the band. Watchband leather is too thick to bead on.

Beading wooden beads is really fun, and they look amazing. I'm worried a tut would be extremely difficult, though. It's all so tiny (unless I cover a golf ball, or something, LOL. Wait...that might work! Don't give me ideas :) I could do a "start" video, "this is how to start a covered bead." That may be helpful, and soooo much easier!
